Whether I’ve been trekking, or on an overland tour, I’ve always built in some time somewhere to relax and a day at sea allows you to do exactly the same thing.

Enjoy the excuse to go to the late risers breakfast, sit by the pool with a book, or even just enjoy a long lunch. Although often avoided, especially by those new to cruising, a day at sea on a busy itinerary takes away the pressure of having to explore and instead allows you to relax guilt free.

Years in travel: 15 years.

Years working at Mundy Cruising: 7 years.

First job in travel: I worked for Balkan Holidays as part of their reservations department, dealing with package summer and ski holidays predominantly to Bulgaria.

First cruise: I was utterly spoilt with a trip on Silversea's Silver Shadow in Alaska in 2013 shortly after joining Mundy Cruising. I embarked in Juneau and sailed to Vancouver with a little time in Seattle before. A wonderful destination for an introduction to cruise.

Best cruise dining experience: I loved the al fresco style and laidback atmosphere of SeaDream and the food is divine.

Best non-cruise holiday: Hard to say but, if I really had to choose, I'd say a Laos and Thailand trip where I stayed in Luang Prabang, a sleepy town on the banks for the upper Mekong, and then had some beach time on Koh Lanta, an island just off Thailand's Andaman coast.

Interesting fact about yourself: I once competed in a ultra-Marathon in the Sahara.
